A.N.Z.A.C DAY - Biscuits & Poppy

Today is ANZAC day, I wanted to do something for this, so I made 2 posters. One with a recipe for ANZAC cookies (From Chelsea Sugar NZ), and one with a poppy on it.

The now known as ANZAC biscuits were sent by wives and women's groups to soldiers abroad (The ingredients don't spoil and the biscuits kept well during naval transport).

The poppy's origin as a popular symbol of remembrance lies in the landscapes of the first world war. Poppies were a common sight, especially on the western front.

  1. Talofa lava Kiarah,

What a lovely blog post for ANZAC Day! This was a wonderful way to spend some time remembering those that fought for us in the war.
I always enjoy looking through your posts at your creations; I hope you've had a good rest as well this holidays!
