Today one of the tasks was to create a model of a Water Molecule. A molecule of water is made out of two hydrogen atoms connected to an oxygen atom. I made mine out of lego, I make everything out of lego. Make sure to check out my other SLJ tasks! Enjoy :)

Wow, awesome that you're exploring chemistry! I think using lego to represent different molecules is such a great way to explore atomic structure. And what a great atom to represent! It's got to be my favourite molecule.
Do you like chemistry? I'm curious whether you have experimented with building any other molecules?
I have a friend who is just completing her PhD in chemistry and she is exploring nano technology that will help fight cancer. It's truly incredible where an interest like this can take you.
I read your profile on your blog and think it is so cool that you're aiming for a shcolarship to get into St Cuthberts College. What do you have to do to get that? Do you have any idea what subjects you might want to take there?

ReplyDeleteChris here from the SLJ, again. Did you enjoy this task? I think it looks really interesting, science is definitely more fun when it’s practical. Do you know the chemical symbol for water, or its full name? You’ve already nailed the activity, so I’m sure there’s room to learn a couple more things here!

It is great to see that you have completed the task, it was really good to see that you explained what makes up water molecules. This shows that you have a good understanding of the task and what makes up water. Water is really important as 71 percent of the world is covered in water. It was also very creative to make it out of lego blocks- Ka Pai!!!
