Consolidate - Poster/meaning

Today is the first day back in lock-down (level 4). So we started online learning straight away. The first meeting of the day was team assembly, but then we had maths. We had a online meeting with Miss Hall and had a chat about what maths will look like online. She mentioned this word and said it was the big word of the day. I decided to research a bit on it and make this fun poster about the word CONSOLIDATE. I hope you enjoy and feel free to leave a positive comment.

Reasons why you should wipe your but with vanilla ice cream - Persuasive Writing

In literacy we picked out 1 thing, 1 person and 1 place. We had to make a statement and write a persuasive essay on the topic. All of the "scientifically"/"stats" are all fake, we has to make this piece as funny and as made up as possible. P.S you shouldn't wipe you bum with vanilla ice cream...

Topic:

While Simon is going to the toilet he should be able to wipe his bum with vanilla ice-cream.

3 ideas:

  1. Why vanilla ice-cream is good for wiping buts

  2. Why vanilla ice-cream is better than toilet paper

  3. Why it is not gross to bring Vanilla ice cream into the toilet

Wiping bums with vanilla ice cream has so many benefits. It might not be the best idea, but it is a good one. It is great for wiping bums, it is way better than toilet paper and it’s not that gross to bring vanilla ice cream in the toilets.

Vanilla ice-cream should be the 1st thing you use to clean your bottom.  Vanilla ice-cream is cold and when your poop comes out hot, it burns your bum hole a little bit. If you wipe it with ice-cream it soothes and moisturises it. If you get bored you can even take a bite, but it might turn into a bit of chocolate chip. P.S, vanilla ice-cream is very good for you, people who eat vanilla ice cream get skinnier and fitter.

Toilet paper is bad for the environment. Vanilla ice-cream is much more ECO friendly. When flushing down the toilet it basically dissolves. Toilet paper does too, but it builds up over time. It is scientifically proven that when you flush vanilla ice-cream down your toilet it cleans and prevents the pipes from blocking up.

It is gross to bring food into the toilet. Although vanilla ice cream is food, it is a totally different story. You may not think much of it, but the smell of vanilla ice cream takes the odor away from the stench of your nasty poo. Stats show that people prefer vanilla ice cream over deodorizers.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to wipe your bum with vanilla ice cream, after hearing so many benefits. It cools your bottom down,it is more healthy for the environment and it cleans the smell without having to use matches. Maybe you could even try with strawberry ice cream...

My mini science investigation - Tech

Carefully read and understand this recording and planning guide so you are systematic in scientific thinking, experimenting, recording and interpreting.

Follow logically through each section so you are thorough in your science investigation steps.

6

Complete each section with details needed so you have carefully logged your project...and so an outsider can know and understand too.

1

My science investigation TOPIC:

Pulse Rates

2

My investigation question

Investigate the effect of different types of physical activity on the heart rate/pulse rate.

Which actions/activity resulted in the highest heart rate?

Which actions/activity resulted in the lowest heart rate?

Why do you think this might be?

  • Hypothesis:

  • 1, I think running as fast as possible on the spot will give me the highest heart rate.

  • 2, I think stretching will have the lowest heart rate.

3

Background research and knowledge I will explore as a backdrop to my investigation

High Blood Pressure - 120 and above mmHg

Low Blood Pressure - 80 and below mmHg

4

Aim of my investigation

To find the highest and lowest heart rate while doing activity

5

My investigation steps

Materials: Stop watch, smart watch, tennis ball (for catch)

People: My partner Angelica

STEP 1

Put on the watch tightly

STEP 2

Wait for your watch to go down to your heart rate

STEP 3

Do the activity while using a stopwatch (30 sec) and read the heart rate

STEP 4

Write it into the Collection table

STEP 5

Repeat

6

My possible recording method

Data collection table

Result:

  1. Which actions/activity resulted in the highest heart rate?

Jogging on Spot - Hypothesis - Running

  1. Which actions/activity resulted in the lowest heart rate?

Stretching - Hypothesis - Stretching

  1. Why do you think this might be?

High heart rate: While tuning your heart needs more oxygen

Low heart rate: Stretching makes your heart rate faster, but goes down afterwards because it is relaxing for the nervous system.

Tokyo Olympics - Controversies

This term we are making a scratch project about some of the controversies of the Olympics.  We chose identity, and I am doing Lydia Ko, and Angelica is going to be doing Laurel Hubbard. Lydia Ko was born in south Korea, but is competing for NZ. She is getting questioned why she isn't competing for South Korea. Laurel Hubbard, is trans, born a boy transferred to a girl. She is a weightlifter and people are questioning why, because she still might have muscle. I hope you enjoy and learn something new please leave a positive comment.

Netball Certificates - Player of the Day

On the 5th of August the year 7-8 boy and girls teams (5) went to the netball Eastern Zone tournament. My team, the year 7 chiefs played 5 games, including semi-finals and finals. That's right! We made it to the finals, we all were very proud, but exhausted. The Chiefs tried their best, but we did come 2nd. We still get to go to the inter zone tournament too though. The Year 7 and 8 mixed boys team came 1st and the year 8 girls team came 2nd (which means they get to go to inter zone too.

While in the tournament I was named captain for the day. I also ended up getting player of the day, I was very happy. I got it for encouraging my team mates, and talking on the court.
