The most dangerous writing challenge
A beautiful bird flew across the room as I stepped in the door from school. "Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" my sister screamed as she came down from the stairs. I walked up to her and said...
"Don't worry the bird won't hurt you just, stop screaming and be quite. Make sure you don't move stay here."
I started to walk up to the bird being aware that it was scared. Like it was reading my mind it stopped, but then it landed on my sisters head. I started to panic knowing that my sister would freak. I quickly ran up to the bird and caught it making sure not to hurt it. I picked it up and went outside and then let it go. the I washed my hands.
This is a writing challenge that we had to do. It is called the "Dangerous Writing Challenge". We only had five minutes to do it and if you stopped writing you would fail and you would have to start again. I made some mistakes and I fixed some, but then realised that we can't fix it. I hope you enjoy.

Cross country recount
I could feel butterflies crazily flying around in my stomach as I waited for the two pieces of wood to clap together. If you are wondering what I am talking about here is your answer. It was the cross country day, on the 16th of September! Before our turn we had to wait for all the other years to go. Finally it was our turn, the year 5 girls. So let's get back to the start of the story.
Clappp! The two pieces of wood went as Mr Sommervillle slapped them together. We all bolted off trying to stay within the group. Matalita was taking the lead while all of us other girls were close behind. When we turned around the goal post most of the girls started to slow down except for some of us. Then we got up to the gate and I still didn’t stop yet.I was so puffed that I was willing to stop, but I did not give up. I went through the gate and lot’s of girls were screaming because they were “scared” of the mud. It was so muddy and I kind of enjoyed it, it was fun. I got past the mud and I got to the big square. I ran around it and caught up to Gabby
we ran together and we both could see the finish line ahead. I was so relieved. Gabby ran past me and nearly went past the finish line, but I bolted with all my power and we tied 6th place out of everyone, but out of our school we placed 4th. This was one of the hardest runs of my life, I was exhausted. I grabbed a drink bottle and drank all of it. I was so proud and tired.
In conclusion running the cross country race wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Maybe one day you could run a cross country race.

Animation Term 3 Something in the water
This is my term 3 animation. It is all about the rocky shore. I chose the Kina for my creature. I hope you enjoy.
Term 3 animation script.
Hi my name is Kiarah and this is my animation for term 3. Our topic is Something in the water. Hope you enjoy.
The creature that I chose from the rocky shore is a Kina or Sea urchin. Divers love to go diving for these creatures because they are so delicious. Kina eat algae and brown seaweed. A couple hours later. You can use scissors to cut Kina, but you can also use knifes and spoons. When cut open people like to eat the orange bit of the Kina.
Food web! In this food web the Kina and the fish eat the seaweed, but only the kina eats the algae. Then the fish and the seven armed starfish eats the kina.after that the seal and the squid eats the fish and then the seal eats the squid too. Then last, but not least the shark eats the seal. Food chain. This is my food chain. The algae is a producer, the Kina is a consumer, the fish is a consumer, the seal is a consumer and the shark is a consumer, but it is an apex which means that it can’t be eaten by other animals. Seals go hunting for Kina. Kina live in lots of places and one of them are rock pools. They graze on and eat the seaweed. They live in the subtidal zone which is the zone that is always under water. They also live in the deep near coral. In a couple of days they can multiply a lot.
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed.

Trip to the museum!
For the past two days the extension group and some other people got to go to the Auckland Museum! On Monday and Tuesday we had a fantastic experience. We were so excited! When we got to he Museum we got into our groups and did a little activity with our Museum instructors. Their names were Wendy and Gabriel. We pulled out pieces of paper out of a container and saw if it went in the deep sea or in the rocky shore. Then we split in half and half of us explored the Museum and the other half started to learn more about coding the robots and controlling the VR World.
After that we had lunch and they provided lunch for us, it was quite yum. Then we did the same thing as the other group, in other words we rotated. My group of four did VR first, we just started looking around the island and then we got to make our own! It was just a small one though. Then after that we went to the robot section and coded the robot to walk around a course that we made. It was so fun and we even had some challenges along the way. When we finished with the robots we went and sat down on chairs and started to make a character that we could put on a screen and make it look like it was in the real world. When we finished that we said our good byes and went back to school.
The next day we went to the museum again and it was really fun because we got to make our own VR World! First we planned then we started to see where the pieces of our land would go. Bye the way we chose to do the Rocky Shore. After doing that we built our land and it looked so cool. When we finished that we had to film it with the tool on our controller. After filming it we had to fill out a survey. Then we said good bye again and headed back to school.
Thank you so much Auckland Museum for giving us this great opportunity. Hope to see you next year.
