This weeks poetry slam task is a poem type called: Snowball Poems. I made mine about summer, in this poem type you have to make a sentence and then make the next a word/letter longer. In the kick start activity, you had to make it a word longer. Enjoy :)

My name is Quein and I am a blog commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. I really enjoyed the poem. You have chosen very strong words to express your feelings about summer. I can relate to a certain extent the heat from the sun during summer does make it difficult especially when you are not in the shade or have air conditioning. However you have shown a strong understanding of the snowball poem as you have added an extra word to every line.
Did you enjoy this activity? Do you have any tips from fellow bloggers for making a snowball poem? I think it could actually be a lot of fun to make a snowball poem with someone and see how many lines you can get to as you have to add at least one new word to each line.
I’m looking forward to seeing your next blog post!!!
Remember to have an Awesome Summer !!!

ReplyDeleteYour snowball poem really made me smile and brightened my day! I especially liked your rhyming structure (AABBCC) and the way you used the rhyme to emphasise your humour (e.g. summer/bummer; hot/rot) - very clever design!
I also like your thinking behind the idea of seasons in disguise which is very sophisticated!
I hope that you have posted your poem on the Poetry Slam website as I am sure that the other poets will enjoy reading your poem as much as I have!
Thanks again!
